E & D Coaching Clinic

 

The Detroit lakes Youth Soccer Association (DLYSA) is hosting the USSF E & D coaching clinics in March 2012 at the Detroit Lakes Middle School. Registration is now open, click the link above to register. The Clinic will be closed once it is full.
 The D coaching license: is required to coach players at a higher level in Minnesota. It is an excellent clinic that will teach veteran coaches great things about coaching soccer. The club will reimburse Detroit Lake coaches or parents the $300 cost of the clinic if they coach in Detroit Lakes.
 
On 2/24/12 the price goes up by $100, so please don't procrastinate.
 
The D clinic will be held over two weekends on the following dates
 
Mar. 9: 6-9:00 pm
Mar. 10: 8 am-4:00 pm
Mar. 11: 8am-4:00 pm
Mar. 16: 6-9:00 pm
Mar. 17: 8 am-4:00 pm
Mar. 18: 8am-1:00 pm
The clinic consists of both classroom and field work. Participants should expect to coach and play soccer during this clinic. The D clinic is open to those who have held an E license for one year or who have played collegiate or professional soccer.
 
The E coaching certificate is the first step along the coaching path and gives the parent/coach the correct tools to help with coaching players at a younger age. The club will reimburse the $150 cost of the E clinic if they coach in the Detroit Lakes soccer program.

Concussions

Policy Relating to Concussion and Concussed Players
 
The DLYSA is adopting this policy as part of its obligation
to provide a safe playing environment for its players.
 
Pre-Season Requirements
Coaches and officials are required to take the free CDC online training course
Concussion Training for Coaches,

(click here to take the training, which is located in the middle of the webpage and takes
approximately 30 minutes) before they may coach or officiate for the first time starting with the
2011/2012 season and once every three years thereafter. The certificate of completion at the end
of the training is proof the course has been taken. Parents and athletes may take the course for
their own information.

  4. Type full name into the “Electronic Signature” box and mark the box next to “My name entered above signifies my Electronic Signature” and click on “Continue” to proceed.
  5. The following information is required to complete the background check: last name, first name, current address, city, state, zip code, date of birth, social security number and gender; then click on “Continue” to proceed.
  6. Under “Criminal Court Searches” – click on “Add/Edit Jurisdictions.”
  7. Under “Search Type” click on drop down box and click on “Felony and Misdemeanor,” under “State” click on drop down box and click on “MN,” under “County/Jurisdiction” click on county of residence (in alphabetical order).
  8. Social Trace, National Sex Offender Database and USA Criminal Index are pre filled. Click on “Agree and Submit Order.”
