Rec - Mighty Strikers

Detroit Lakes Recreation Program

  • The Detroit Lakes Rec program when first started had 12-15 players and over the years the numbers stabilized at 30-40 players.
  • In 2004 the format was changed with the view to "Just Let the Kids Play"
  • The first year the numbers increased to 90 and in 2007 it was 250 players.
  • During this period we have been working on new fields for this important group of players. We are happy to let you know that the fields were leveled, a sprinkler system was installed and seeding was started in the fall of 2007. New goal posts have been purchased for the Big Beans.
  • In 2009 we added a concessions and bathrooms building.
  • This year the coach for the program will be Jennifer Frank she was a DL H/S team captain, she is joined by Sarah Carter who also was a DL H/S player..
  • We hope you are as excited as we are to see this group of players on the Rotary Soccer Complex. where they will be able to learn their skills on level soft grass.
  • The Detroit Lakes Community Cultural Center will be handling the Mighty Strikers Registration and more information is in their catalogue or you can sign up at their web site www.dlccc.org  Mighty Strikers Summer Soccer.
