Referee Training

New Referee

This one day clinic for New Refs is on March 3, 2012 at the Middle School rooms 126 & 128 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Students are expected to be in the classroom ready to go at the posted start time. Registration with USSF must be completed online prior to the class.

Training Requirements for New Referees
1) Pay the $60 registration fee online.
2) Select the Grade 8 track
3) Complete online training. Grade 8 seven credit hours of online and eight hours of    classroom training
 4) Complete the MYSA background check  and > 18 years of age

All clinic participants must be registered with USSF in advance of the clinic. 

People attending the Entry level course must register and complete the on-line training by the Thursday immediately preceding their preferred clinic date.

This clinic- offers certification as a Grade 8 referee upon successful completion of a fifteen hour entry level training program.  Seven hours of the program will be done on-line by students prior to attending the clinic.  Classroom and field training will account for the remaining hours.

Grade 8 or Higher Recert Information

A one day clinic for re certification will be held on March 3, 2012.  from 9:00 am-11:00 am. at the Middle School, rooms 149 & 151. If you are not able to attend the sessions in Detroit Lakes, there are other locations in the NW district.

All returning Grade 8 or higher referees must register for a clinic at least 9 days before the clinic date and complete an on-line test appropriate to their grade prior to attending a re certification clinic.  The test must be completed by the Thursday immediately preceding the clinic to be attended.  Failure to meet this deadline will deny you access to the clinic and require you to attend a clinic on another date.
A test invitation will be sent to your email after you complete your registration with USSF.  You will not be able to receive the invitation if your email address at USSF is incorrect or if you build a new profile.

Training Requirements for Returning Grade 8 Referees
1) Pay the $60 registration fee online.
2) Pass the Online Recertification test
a. Passing score is 75%
b. Score of 75 to 84% mandates a video review of all missed questions
c. Unlimited attempts; no delay between attempts
d. Open book
e. 90 minute deadline from initiation of test
f. Incorrect responses and correct answers are shown after every completion
3) Complete 3.0 credit hours of online training (minimum 1.25 hours of new topics)
4) Select and attend a 2 hour recertification classroom session
5) Complete the MYSA background check (if working MYSA games and > 18 years of age )

Background checks are only necessary for those 18 or older. Contact the club and they will pay for them.
